Gangrene of the Extremity Following Femoral Venipuncture: A Report of Two Cases

Two cases of gangrene in the lower extremity of infants following femoral venipuncture have been reported. The potential danger of this procedure in the severely dehydrated infant is to be emphasized. The use of micro chemistry procedures rather than femoral venipuncture is urged. The late sequellae of growth disturbance has been noted.
