I cannot disagree with Dr. Wolf's feeling that children are somewhat conditioned to look upon medicine tablets as confections, but I disagree with the conclusion that this is all caused by flavored medications in tablet form. Certainly, flavored tablets can be presented to children in such a way as to make clear the distinction between medicine and food. After all, many things in our milieu are dangerous if misusedthe automobile being a prime examplebut are not likely to be prohibited because of other advantages.
