This publication represents the first segment of a projected three-volume treatise on all infectious diseases of man. The first volume deals with virus diseases and virus-like illnesses, the second, to be published soon, with bacterial infections, and the third with diseases of fungal origin. Volume I consists of two sections, each bound separately and available only as a unit. The first section discusses all illnesses definitely proven to be due to viruses; the second, of almost equal length, discusses illnesses of probable viral etiology such as infectious mononucleosis, cat-scratch fever, and epidemic vomiting, as well as diseases caused by the psittacosis lymphogranuloma group, by coxiella and mycoplasma.
