Clinical Observations on Ketonurias

Takeshi Noguchi 1

1 1599 Shimo-Ishihara, Chofu-Shi Tokyo, Japan

It is a common observation that pediatric patients often present with ketonuria not accompanied by vomiting, and that some adults may show ketonuria and vomiting together, or either of them separately and without discoverable cause. The present letter deals with such cases encountered by the writer.

An analysis of the symptoms of 46 children with ketonuria has revealed that 23 (50%) may be diagnosed as recurrent vomiting, whereas the remaining 23 cases (50%) are not accompanied by vomiting.
