Of the books which attempt to bridge gap between textbooks and medical journals, one of the most successful over the years has has been Advances in Pediatrics, edited by Dr. S. Z. Levine. The continued excellence of this series of books has been due, in large part, Dr. Levine's choice of subjects and authors. These have made each volume a mixture of definitive articles on some subjects combined with occasional controversial and thought-proyoking ones on other subjects.
