A Mail-in Technique for Detecting Penicillin in Urine: Application to the Study of Maintenance of Prophylaxis in Rheumatic Fever Patients

A method for detecting penicillin in urine of rheumatic patients on oral prophylaxis is described. The use of a mail-in kit permits the participation of school nurses and other personnel in the field in community programs directed at preventing recurrences of rheumatic fever.
