POST-IRRADIATION MESENCHYMAL CHONDROSARCOMA

A Case Report

The case being reported is that of an unusual variety of chondrosarcoma of the vertebrae now called mesenchymal chondrosarcoma. It developed in a 12-year-old girl following radiation therapy for an intra-abdominal malignancy. Data on necropsy showed unequivocal venous spread and widespread pulmonary embolization.
