ANOMALOUS ORIGIN OF THE LEFT CORONARY ARTERY FROM THE PULMONARY ARTERY (BLAND-WHITE-GARLAND SYNDROME)

Report of Four Cases

1 The Hektoen Institute for Medical Research and the Children's Division and Department of Pathology of the Cook County Hospital, and the Department of Pediatrics of the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Chicago, Ill.

The anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery is a definite pathologic and clinical entity. A review of the literature reveals 22 reported cases. Four additional cases are presented. Additional considerations explaining observations ions in this syndrome and a suggestion for the possible treatment of this malformation are presented.
