Parents of Mentally Retarded Children

I have something on my mind that I wish to rid by writing to you. This is neither new nor complicated like most of the articles in your journal; but, it is important, especially to young physicians who first confront the parents of mentally retarded children who are admitted to state institutions.

The physician may be surprised to see these parents behave differently from other people they have known until he stops and thinks for a little while the reason behind this behavior.
