It was with the great interest that I read Dr. Hammond's report of skin dimpling associated with congenital rubella (Pediatrics, 39:291, 1967). We are at present investigating a syndrome of musculoskeletal abnormalities occurring in the Eskimo population of Alaska. This condition somewhat resembles arthrogryposis multiplex congenita, and appears to have a familial distribution. In this syndrome, too, skill dimples are found on the extensor surfaces of the knees and elbows and occasionally over other joints. In each instance, however, this abnormality is associated with limitation of motion of the underlying joint.
