This is the sixth edition of the well-known manual on premature care by Dr. Mary Crosse, first published in 1945. Although copious references to the world literature are cited, the special merit of this book derives from the experience the author has gained in over 30 years of supervising one of the world's pioneer premature nurseries. Large sections of the book seem designed as much for the detailed instruction of nurses and midwives as they are for the instruction of trained pediatricians.
