This book, the product of the combined effort of 25 contributors, is written primarily for the pediatrician and the general practitioner. It should not be judged by how well it covers new and sophisticated aspects of ophthalomology, but by its success in presenting sound discussions of ophthalmic problems seen in pediatric practice. The editors rightly point out that a school eye examination should no longer be considered an adequate means of uncovering structural or functional abnormalities in the eyes of children.
