The pancreatic insulin content of 16 infants with lethal erythroblastosis fetalis was determined and compared with 17 controls of similar gestational ages. Significantly higher insulin levels, comparable to those exhibited by newborn infants of diabetic mothers, were found in the babies with hemolytic disease of the newborn.
