Transumbilical retrograde aortography and selective arteriography were performed in seven newborn infants from 2 to 10 days1 of age. In three infants abdominal aortograms were obtained for evaluation of abdominal masses and in one of these a clinically unsuspected, severe abdominal coarctation was discovered. In one infant an aortic arch study was done because of suspected vascular ring. In the remaining three infants cerebral arteriograms were obtained because of suspected intracranial lesions, and in one of them a massive subdural hematoma was found. Description of the technic and its advantages and limitations have been presented.
