A 10-month-old girl swallowed a beetle of the Meloidae family and developed classical signs of cantharidin toxicity manifested by vomiting, urinary frequency, dysuria, hematuria, proteinuria, glycosuria, elevated blood urea nitrogen, and elevated white blood cell counts. A brief review of the pertinent literature and toxicology is given.
