THE APPEARANCE OF THE ADOLESCENT AS A DIAGNOSTIC INDICATOR

Since the teen-ager is markedly hesitant about sharing emotional feelings and conflicts, to help in his diagnostic process, the pediatrician needs to utilize the multiplicity of nonverbal cues the adolescent gives as to his personality status. This paper describes how the appearance of an adolescent can be used to provide such clinically valid information.
