HEPARIN THERAPY OF PURPURA FULMINANS

A patient with a rapidly progressing intravascular thrombosis with gangrene (purpura fulminans) was successfully treated by heparinization alone without complication and despite the finding of incoagulable blood and hemorrhagic gangrenous lesions Further cautious trials of heparin in this and allied disorders are indicated.
