Unsafe at any Speed

EUGENE F. DIAMOND M.D.1

1 Member, Committee on Accident Prevention, American Academy of Pediatrics

This book and the attendant publicity given its author during the hearings on auto safety by the Ribicoff Committee have been among the prime movers in the enactment of sweeping legislation by the Congress and drastic changes in the automotive industry's policy toward safety design. The author is an attorney who was an advisor to the Senate Sub-committee investigating automobile hazards. One may question his competence in discussing some of the technical aspects of automotive design, although his documentation is impressive.
