Red Urine (Continued)

George X. Trimble M.D.1

1 Medical Director catholic Hospitals Medical Education Foundation 101 Memorial Drive ansas City, Missouri 64108

Dr. S. Levin of Johannesburg, South Africa, in his contribution "Red Urine: The Monday Morning Disorder of Children" (Pediatrics, 36: 134, 1965) remarked: "Over the past 20 years he Index Medicus does not list the phenomenon of red urine as a consequence of the ingestion of colored food."

Whether his statement is a reflection of inadequate survey of the medical literature by Index Medicus, or of the difficulty of making an accurate search by Index Medicus of the medical literature over a 20-year span, I am nable to say.
