Letter to th Editor

Barton Childs M.D.1

1 Professor of Pediatrics, Johns Hopkins University Baltimore, Maryland 21205

Dr. Child's commented as follows:

In my paper I mentioned the work of Drs. Bunch and Rowell in a single paragraph, containing seven sentences. I don't quite see how I could have misinterpreted very much of their viewpoint since I only presented one aspect. I get the feeling that had I used the term antibody instead of immunoglobulin, all might have been well. I was using the work immunoglobulin to cover any antibody. In the papers cited, presenting their "corrections," Doctors Burch and Rowell cite some references which were not available to me when I wrote my paper. There is even one not yet in print.
