Genetics and Disease, Alfred G. Knudson, Jr. New York: McGraw-Hill Book Company, 1965, 294 pp., $10.50

Park S. Gerald M.D.

The current interest in genetics has resulted in the recent appearance of numerous reviews and monographs on the subject. Many of these have been of such a general approach that hey are difficult for the clinician to translate no terms useful at the bedside. This condensed treatise by Dr. Knudson is one of the few which attempts to perform this translation.

Readers are guided systematically from the basic concepts of Mendel's "Laws of Inheritance" through almost the entire range of clinically applicable genetics, up to and including the regulatory models proposed by Jacob and Monod.
