Congenital mediastinal thymic cyst is a rare tumor which can cause symptoms, and can be successfully excised. With modern x-ray equipment and With a high index of suspicion, it will be possible to identify a greater number of smaller mediastinal tumor masses. The details of a single case, suspected preoperatively, is reported.
