Letters to the Editor

NORMAN LEWAK M.D.

A letter of mine printed in this column in September, 1964 (p. 438) outlined my experience with the unnecessary measles epidemic of 1964. In that letter I urged that a national campaign be instituted to convince the public that measles is a deadly disease and to inform them that a vaccine is available.

Since September I have written many letters to organizations and news media and the response has been poor. Everyone is interested but no one thinks the public can be moved.
