1 Chairman, Committee on, Accident Prevention, American Academy of Pediatrics
We need more pediatricians like Dr. Kravitz who are sufficiently concerned with children's death by accident to do something about it. He has, and I congratulate him.
In 1963, 15,600 children between the ages of 0 to 14 years old died as a result of accidents. Fifty-one hundred of these were due to motor vehicle accidents. It is the largest cause of accidental death in children. If 5,100 children died of any disease the hue and cry would be tremendous.
