The Normal Child

HUGO DUNLAP SMITH M.D.

An unfortunately large amount of the time of many pediatric consultants is spent informing parents that their children are normal or are suffering from psychiatric or physical disorders which should not be considered true disease. Much of this effort would not be required if more pediatricians and general practitioners were conversant with the information in The Normal Child by the British authority. Ronald S. Illingworth. Like its predecessors, the third edition is an invaluable compilation of data from the literature and from wide personal experience concerning the range of normal variation in physical, intellectual, and behavioral growth.
