The case reported by Dr. Ekelund adds another to the increasing number of recognized late intestinal obstructions due to inspissated feces in fibrocystic disease. It will help to alert the profession to this aspect of this many faceted disease.

It is of added interest that no further obstructive episodes occurred in this patient during the ensuing 4 years although no special diet or treatment with pancreatic enzyme was given.
