SPONGY DEGENERATION OF THE NERVOUS SYSTEM (CANAVAN'S DISEASE)

Report of a Case in an Irish-American Family

The clinical and pathological findings in a case of spongy degeneration of the nervous system (Canavan's disease) occurring in an Irish family are presented. The literature is reviewed and the clinical findings that would aid in diagnosis are discussed.
