1 Chairman, Committee on Infectious Diseases
It is difficult to construct an all inclusive table of antimicrobial dosage and the bacteria for which each is indicated because the subject is too complex and there are too many variables to compress all the pertinent information into a few words or symbols in a table. Selection of the optimal antimicrobial and its mode of use quires more knowledge of its pharmacology, the tissue infected, the infecting organism, its antibiotic sensitivities, and the probable duration of treatment than can be included in a table.
