Letters to the Editor

HORACE L. HODES M.D.

I agree with Dr. Carey's criticism of Dr. Amer's paper published in Pediatrics, July, 1963. The whole object of my commentary, published in the same issue, was an attempt to get readers to withhold judgment regarding the paper published by Dr. Amer. I also made the suggestion that the composition of the two populations be studied further, but we were told that this was not possible since a large portion of the children involved had moved out of Denver.

Altogether I think that the paper plus the commentary has left the general impression that the issue is far from settled.
