An unusual experiment in the application of education and psychotherapy is set forth at considerable length in this book. Using what appears to be considerable knowledge and apparently an equal amount of well-applied intuition, Dr. Riese, a European-trained physician, has organized a special treatment center for extremely deprived children in the city of Richmond. The treatment center has been in operation since 1942. In describing the work with these children, the book sets forth the concept of educational therapy, a method of help more commonly applied in Europe than in this country. Dr. Riese's book describes this process in considerable detail.
