The appearance of the Year Book poses an annual problem for the reviewer who, obviously, cannot even enumerate the contents of such volumes. It may be better to note that these tend to be the first books to which we turn at the conclusion of the daily ward rounds. If the recent article we remembered seeing somewhere was of much significance, it has usually been abstracted. If a commentary has been invited (or, better still, written) by Dr. Gellis, the significance is greatly increased.
