THREE EPISODES OF SPONTANEOUS THYROID STORM OCCURRING IN A NINE-YEAR-OLD CHILD

A case of a 9-year-old girl with apathetic hyperthyroidism, with three episodes of thyroid storm, is described. Each storm responded dramatically to corticosteroids and potassium iodide. The signs and symptoms of hyperthyroidism failed to show any response to methimazole, but a satisfactory response to propylthiouracil was obtained.
