Hazards of Foods

Roy F. Garrison M.D.1

1 Kansas City, Missouri

Regarding the use of foods packed in glass jars for infant feeding (Pediatrics, 29:499, 1962), Dr. Coriell's remarks are pertinent. History of allergy was absent and subsequent intake of the same food caused no difficulty. I wonder if the shoe may not be on the other foot; that is, maybe some cases are diagnosed as allergy which are really staphylococcal toxin poisonings.

Does Dr. Coriell realize how long it would take in most cities to ship a food product to a State Department of Health?
