This is a book that pediatricians—and pediatric investigators particularly—will welcome, for it provides unusual insights into a related field of investigation. Although the avowed motivation of the editors for producing this handbook stems from their perception of an impoverished state of affairs in child development research, the contents of this excellent volume indicate that child psychology, in spite of its neglected condition, has succeeded in developing many ingenious and profitable methods to study the behavior of children.
