CONGENITAL LARYNGEAL STRIDOR

Speculations Regarding Its Origin

The hypothesis is proposed that congenital laryngeal stridor results from excessive rehearsal of the laryngeal closing reflex during the aquatic environment of fetal life.

An unusual frequency of allergic manifestations in stridorous infants who have been followed to maturity, or in their families suggests a relationship between allergy and congenital laryngeal stridor.
