The Placenta and Fetal Membranes

WILLIAM A. BLANC M.D.

This book is the result of a well planned effort sponsored by the Association for the Aid of Crippled Children.

In the first part (124 pages), 8 reviews accompanied by a bibliography bring up-to-date some of the basic aspects of research on the placenta. All of them are excellent and have been written by outstanding scholars. Amoroso reviews extensively the comparative aspect of hormonal functions and Dempsey emphasizes some facets of the histophysiology of the placenta.
