ORTHODONTICS AND THE PEDIATRICIAN

Melvin I. Cohen D.M.D.1

1 Department of Orthodontics, Harvard School of Dental Medicine, the Children's Medical Center

The orthodontist carries out specific dental health procedures on a patient at an age level when the pediatrician has the over-all health responsibility. It is therefore desirable that there be a proper understanding and communication between these groups. This paper attempts to present material from the field of orthodontics to aid the pediatrician in his understanding of this dental specialty.
