Blindness in Children

HENRY F. ALLEN M.D.

The development of children blind from birth is a specialized subject about which there has been a gradual accumulation of specialized knowledge. The present book stems from a project which originated as a result of the appearance of a rapid increase of blindness from retrolental fibroplasia in the late 1930's and early 1940's. The concepts and principles introduced in this book represent a significant advance and provide, for the first time, a flexible framework upon which to base an intelligent program for blind children from their earliest days.
