This book is a collection of several papers concerned with the problems of counseling with mentally retarded individuals and their parents. The editors have culled the scientific writings on this broad subject and have organized them into chapters dealing with such areas as psychotherapy, psychodrama, speech therapy, parent counseling, etc. It is entirely timely, at this moment when there is much interest being expressed in this problem, that this book should appear. The editors are well aware that the papers vary greatly as to their scope and general quality, but the articles are representative of thought in each particular area.
