Angiocardiographic Interpretation in Congenital Heart Disease

RUTH WHITTEMORE M.D.

This monograph on angiocardiography is one of the series, American Lectures in Pediatrics. The dissertation is divided into two parts, the first on general considerations, and the second on the diagnosis of specific anomalies.

The section on general considerations gives much useful information. In the introduction, some interesting historical background is presented followed by a discussion on technique and equipment. Here in the preliminary considerations, it is wisely stressed that the need for angiocardiography or aortography in each individual patient should be a group decision of the entire diagnostic team, and that the information to be obtained from the procedure should be thoroughly evaluated.
