This small book contains most of the useful radiologic knowledge about the growing skeleton in the traditional classification and traditional descriptions, and illustrations. Technically the book is excellent; the illustrations are clear, carefully cropped and clearly labelled. The first 32 pages are devoted to normal skeltal findings and normal variations; this important aspect of the subject could have been increased to advantage. The graphs and drawings on velocity of ossification appear to be unnecessarily complicated and inconvenient to an American reader accustomed to tables of frequency distribution with all measurements of central tendency, and variation measured in standard deviations.
