A case is presented of diffuse systemic sarcoidosis complicated by fatal meningoencephalitis caused by Cryptococcus neoformans in a 10-year-old child.

The frequency of coincidence of diseases of the reticulo-endothelial system and infections with cryptococcus neoformans, as well as possible causes for this relationship, are discussed.
