The Pathogenesis of Poliomyelitis

This book, written by one who can speak as an authority, is commended to students of medicine, to practitioners, and to investigators in the infectious diseases. The author has spent more than 20 years investigating the movement of poliomyelitis virus in body tissues. This monograph brings together much of that research and interprets it in the light of the author's experiences.

The theme of the monograph is that poliomyelitis virus has a basic neuronocytotropism. Dr. Faber considers the primary sites of virus multiplication to be the peripheral ganglia of the nervous system.
