TREATMENT OF ATELECTASIS BY THORACIC TRACTION

Edward H. Townsend Jr. M.D.1 and Lucy Squire M.D.1

1 Departments of Pediatrics and Radiology of University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and Department of Pediatrics of Rochester General Hospital, Rochester, New York

This is the first time that atelectasis and its treatment have been visualized with ciné-fluorography.

It is suggested that application to treatment of neonatal, postoperative and other forms of atelectasis in childhood might be studied similarly.
