Oscar Schwartz M.D.1, Martin G. Goldner M.D.1, Jacob Rosenblum M.D.1, and Joseph Avin M.D.1

1 The Departments of Pediatrics and Medicine, Jewish Chronic Disease Hospital and the Department of Pediatrics, Maimonides Hospital, Brooklyn, New York.

A case of neonatal hypoglycemia of 23frac12 months' duration associated with recurrent convulsions has been presented.

The case best fits the classification of "idiopathic spontaneous hypoglycemia in infants."

Dietary management was partially successful for a period of 2frac12 months.

The therapeutic effects of administration of glucagon, cortisone and ACTH were studied. Only the administration of cortisone and ACTH permitted control of the hypoglycemic state.
