TOTAL AMINO ACID COMPOSITION IN MATURE HUMAN MILK

Analysis by the Ion Exchange Resin Column Chromatographic Technic

Values for total amino acids in two pools of mature human milk, consisting of milk from 9 and 5 individual mothers, have been determined by the ion exchange resin column chromatographic technic.

3-methyl histidine and two unidentified ninhydrin-reactive substances are found to be present in significant amounts in whole human milk.
