The pneumonias are considered from an etiologic standpoint which is very important if proper understanding and treatment is to be attained. Emphasis is given to the importance of history and the skill required to get a good history. The significance of a good physical examination is not minimized, and the help to be obtained from X-ray is obvious in the book.
